On our hole 2 (par 5, H 436 m/D 413 m) you quickly get the idea: "Hit it hard - it will be somewhere..." The view from the tee promises plenty of space to give the ball a good hit. The only visible obstacle, an old oak tree, is just 280 meters away. It divides the course into the fairway on the left and the rough on the right. The bunker in the middle at approx. 160 m is no problem for the ambitious player. However, if the ball decides to go to the right-hand side of the fairway, it will be difficult to find, let alone play. The rough can be up to your neck here! The tee boxes are aligned, barely noticeable to the player, in the direction of the left out-of-bounds boundary, which accompanies the course to behind the green. If you are fooled by this cleverly planned trap, you will quickly be "rewarded" with a penalty stroke. However, if the player finds the golden mean, he is only faced with a plateau green, which is guarded by 5 pot bunkers and a boundary behind it. Once you have overcome these obstacles, the last problem is the huge and heavily undulating green. A 30-meter putt is not uncommon here. So hitting the green in Regulation is not necessarily a ticket to par. Conclusion: Better a little less length, but more precision!
