The Asian country - more precisely the capital Kuala Lumpur - hosts important tournaments of all tours every year. For example, the CIMB Classic, the Maybank Malaysian Open and the Sime Darby LPGA Malaysia take place here with many top-class golf pros.

Golfing in tropical climes

Malaysia is divided into the Malay Peninsula in the west and the northern part of the island of Borneo. Except for small parts of the country, Malaysia has a tropical climate all year round, so golfers can always expect rainfall. On the other hand, travelers can look forward to warm temperatures between 22 and 32 degrees throughout the months.

The culinary highlights of the country

At the Malaysian weekly markets, travelers can find exotic fruits such as pineapple, rambotan and guava. In addition, almost everything in Malaysia revolves around rice. Cooked in coconut milk and wrapped in a banana leaf, the grain quickly becomes the national dish "nasi lemak", which is usually eaten with nuts, chicken and/or egg.

Chinese and Indian specialties also have a major influence on Malay cuisine. For example, the noodle dish chee cheong fun or putu mayam is popular here.

Entry requirements for Malaysia

You can enter Malaysia with a valid passport. A visa is not required if travelers do not wish to stay in the Asian country for professional purposes and for no longer than three months.

There is a time difference of seven hours between Germany and Malaysia. Visitors can reach Kuala Lumpur International Airport from Frankfurt am Main via Doha, for example, in around 14 hours.
